Obituary- Davis, Emma 1

MRS. EMMA DAVIS

Services were at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Christian Church at Rossville for Mrs. Emma Davis, 89, Topeka, who died Friday, May 4, 1973, in a Topeka hospital where she was admitted earlier the same day.

She was born May 4, 1884, at Rossville and spent most of her life in the Rossville community. She formerly taught in schools in the Rossville community. She was a member of the Rossville Christian church.

She was married to Pascual Enos December 12, 1908. He died in September, 1947. She was married to Henry Davis in September, 1949. He died in 1970.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Underwood, Sunland, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Whitten, Topeka,; a son, Dr. Jack Enos, Yukon, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Catherine Haynes, and Mrs. Betty Pence, both of Topeka; four stepsons, Francis Davis, Dorr, Mich., Glen H. Davis, Elmer D. Davis, and Dale A. Davis, all of Topeka; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. Parker Mortuary had charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville Christian Church.



Mrs. Emma Davis

Mrs. Emma Davis, 89, 3426 Clare, a teacher and life-long resident of the Rossville community died Friday, May 4, 1973, at a Topeka hospital following a short illness.

She was born May 4, 1884, at Rossville, and was a member of the Rossville Christian Church.

She was married to Pascual Enos, Dec. 12, 1908. He died in 1947. She was married to Henry Davis in 1949, and he died in 1970.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Underwood, Sunland, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Whitten, 3426 Clare; a son, Dr. Jack Enos, Yukon, Okla.; six step-children; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Rossville Christian Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis will lie in state at Parker Mortuary after 6 p.m. today.
