Mrs. Ellen Bailey
SILVER LAKE- Mrs. Ellen Bailey, 89, Silver Lake, died Saturday at a Topeka hospital.
She was born Nov. 4, 1891, at West Liberty, Ky., the daughter of Frank and Abbie Hutchinson Day. She came to Kansas in 1909 and lived in the Silver Lake community for 52 years.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of East Side Baptist Church, Topeka.
She was married to Ollie Bailey on Aug. 24, 1905, at West Liberty, Ky. He died Feb. 23, 1959. She also was preced¬ed in death by a daughter, Abbie Bai¬ley, and two sons, Arnold Bailey and Woodrow Bailey.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Delphia Meyer, Neodesha, Mrs. Velta Chase. 301 N. Norwood, Mrs. Iva Thompson, 539 Norwood, and Mrs. Lula Chiddix. 546 S.E. Golden; three sons. Glen Bailey, Webber, Raymond Bailey, 8331 N.W. US-24, and Ollie Bai¬ley Jr., 3919 S.E. US-40; 22 grandchil¬dren; 44 great-grandchildren; and sev¬en great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, north of Sil¬ver Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to East Side Baptist Church, 614 California, Topeka, 66607.
