Obituary- Eversole, Mary

Mrs. Mary Eversole
Mrs. J. H. Eversole, 79, a resident of Rossville for the past twenty-seven years, passed away Sunday morning at her home, after a long illness. She was confined to her bed for two years.
She was born September 4, 1860, in Mitchell, Ind., and came to Kansas in 1883. She was a member of the Rossville Methodist church.
Mrs. Eversole was a devoted mother, kind and considerate of others. She was a cripple and for years had been handicapped in walking only with the aid of a cane, but was always brave in her affliction and always forgot self and devoted herself to others.
For years she had nursed her invalid son, John Eversole, who has been confined to his bed for over seven years.
Mrs. Eversole fought a good fight and finished her course continually thinking of the welfare of others.
Her husband, J. H. Eversole preceded her in death several years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. J.A. Roush, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Riley Wood, Carbondale, Colo., and Mrs. L. P. Hartzell Rossville and one son, John Eversole of the home.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist church, with the Rev. C.P. Broadfoot officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Eversole’s grandson, Phillip Hartzell, who sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Shadows” accompanied by a granddaughter, Miss Frances Eversole.
Pall bearers were William Hesse, Joe Navarre, Kenneth Wingerd, Ralph Chatham, Joe Barney and Riley Wood.
Burial was in the Rossville cemetery.
