Obituary- Davis, Glen 1

Glen H. ‘Buzz’ Davis

HOLTON -- Glen H. “Buzz” Davis, 74, Holton, died Monday, Aug. 12, 1985, at a Holton hospital.

Mr. Davis was a farmer and heavy equipment operator for the Kansas Turnpike Authority maintenance department. He retired in 1977.

He was born Nov. 6, 1910, at Rossville, the son of Henry Hopkins and Blanche Baird Davis. He lived in Topeka before he moved to Holton in March 1982.

Mr. Davis was a member of First Christian Church in Rossville and Golden Rule Lodge No. 90, AF&AM, in Topeka.

He was married to Opal Marie Bickford Dec. 5, 1937, at Lyndon. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Ronald Lee Davis and Dennis Glen Davis, both of Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Haynes and Mrs. Betty Pence, both of Topeka; two brothers, Dale Davis, Topeka, and Elmer Davis, Rossville; a stepsister, Mrs. Mary Lou Whitten, Topeka; a stepbrother, Dr. Jack Enos in Oklahoma; and two granddaughters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holton Hospital Auxiliary and sent in care of Denison State Bank, Holton, 66436.
