James M. Davis

James M. Davis, 89, Rossville, died Saturday, April 7, 2001. At a Topeka hospital. He was born January 27, 1912, in Rossville, the son of Denny and Grace Alexander Davis.

He grew up in the Rossville community where he lived all of his life. He was a farmer and raised livestock before he retired. He was a member of the Farmers Union
Co-op at St. Marys.

On December 13, 1953, he married Alouise Pekarek Smith in Oskaloosa. She died November 11, 2000.

Surviving him are two sisters, Gladys W. Ryan, Rossville, and Eva L. Graves, Topeka; several nieces and a nephew.

He will lie in state from 2:00 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (this evening) at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home. His service will be at 2:00 Wednesday afternoon; burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery.

Services will be a 2 p.m. Wednesday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Davis will lie in state from 2 to
7:30 p.m.
