Joseph Wells Davis

Joseph Wells Davis passed away at his home Oct. 28, 2009.

He was born Sept. 13, 1921 at Rossville, the son of Marion and Josephine Wells Davis.

Mr. Davis was a farmer in the Topeka area for 36 years and raised registered Angus cattle. In recent years he farmed in the St. Marys area.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley A. Davis, Francis Davis and his half brother Ted Davis. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Helen Thompson.

On July 30, 1949 he was united in marriage to Ruth Elizabeth Reser. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his seven children and their spouses, Josephine Davis, Dianne and Bud Park, Bill and Marsha Davis, Debbie and Mike Bond, David Davis, Brenda Parsons and Melinda Fidler; a sister, Linda Korcal; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Oct. 30 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Interment was in the Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph Davis Memorial Fund and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, KS 66536.
