Louise Ronsse Davis

Louise Ronsse Davis, 69, died at her rural Rossville home Sunday, March 13, 1994.

She was born February 22, 1925, in St. Marys, the daughter of Mathias and Rosalie Baumchen Floersch.

August 13, 1946, she was united in marriage to Frank R. Ronsse. He died March 9, 1957. She married Francis E. Davis September 23, 1982. He survives.

Mrs. Davis worked as an optometric assistant for Dr. John Hammerli in Topeka and St. Marys. From 1972 until she retired in 1990, she worked for Dr. Verne Claussen in St. Marys.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys. She had been a member of the Shawnee County Optometric Assistants Association and was an officer for many years. She belonged to the Parent-Teacher Association at St. Marys, and had helped with funeral dinners at St. Stanislaus Church in Rossville.

Mrs. Davis lived in the St. Marys and Rossville areas all of her life. She attended Rock Grade School, and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1943. She attended college at Mount Saint Scholastica in Atchison and taught at the Rock School, the Adrian School, and the Sandy Hook School, all in the St. Marys area.

Surviving her are her husband, Francis E. Davis, of the home; three sons, Frank Ronsse, Ketchum, Okla., Peter Ronsse, Marquette, and Dennis Ronsse, Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Judith Ann Pryor, Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Marian Sweany, St. Marys; two stepdaughters, Sharon Pierce, Whittmar, Ariz., and Candice Davis, Purdy, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene Floersch, St. Marys, Mathias Floersch, Ottawa; and Joseph Floersch, Delia; three sisters, Rose Marie McCoy, Alma, Marguerite Glick, St. Marys, and Regina Stork, Davenport, Ia.

Mrs. Davis will lie in state after 12 noon Tuesday (today) at Verschelden Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Verschelden Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys, with burial to be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.

Memorials are suggested to St. Stanislaus Building Fund, or Midland Hospice.
