Obituary- Dick, Bennie Jr. 1

Bennie O. Dick Jr.

ROSSVILLE — Bennie O. Dick Jr., 66, Rossville, died Tuesday, June 13, 1995, at his home.

Mr. Dick farmed and was a partner with his brothers in Dick Brothers Fertilizer at Silver Lake. He later owned and operated Dick Trucking at Rossville and managed farms for Wittmer Farm Realty. He was an Army veteran.

He was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Ottawa, the son of Lorena M. Ellwood and Bennie O. Dick Sr. He was graduated from Rossville schools.

Mr. Dick was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church, Lake Lodge No. 50 AF&AM in Silver Lake, Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies, Topeka Chapter No. 5 of Royal Arch Masons, Zabud Council No. 4, Royal and Select Masters, Topeka Commandery No. 5 of Knights Templar, Arab Shrine and Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville.

He was married to Betty J. Gentry on May 14, 1950, at Rossville. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Rodney W. Dick and Randy L. Dick, both of Rossville; two brothers, Wayne G. Dick, Rossville, and Gary L. Dick, Topeka; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Graveside services conducted by Lake Lodge No. 50 AF&AM will be at Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Dick will lie in state after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rossville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 586, Rossville, 66533.
