Betty JoAnn Dick

Rossville- Betty JoAnn Dick, 78, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Rossville Healthcare & Rehab Center.

She was born August 25, 1931 at Simpson, the daughter of James Roy and Melba Marguerite Huffman Gentry. She lived in the Simpson community until her junior year of high school when she and her family moved to Rossville. Mrs. Dick graduated from Rossville High School in 1949. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Dick was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bobby L. Gentry

On May 14, 1950 Betty was united in marriage to Bennie Dick Jr. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney Dick and Randy (Karen) Dick all of Rossville; a brother, Billy (Beverly) Gentry Rossville; a sister, Barbara (Pete) Dudney Rossville; grandchildren, Dustin (Angela) D:ck, Melissa (Courtney) Horgan, Laci (Adam) Foster, Derek (Kim) Dick, Ashley (Justin) Johnson, Hailey Dick, Ty Dick and Brock Dick; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Rossville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Betty J. Dick Memorial Fund to be used for the Rossville Community Playground and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
