Albert P. Besta
Albert P. “Al” Besta, 90, Wamego died Thursday, October 2, 1997, at the Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center, Wamego.
Mr. Besta worked for Interna-tional Harvester in Wamego for many years. He also was a meat cutler for the Nehring Lockcr Plant in Wamego, and he was a 50-year member of the Wamego Volunteer Fire Department.
He was born September 23, 1907, in Delia, the son of Albin and Teresa Baluzka Besta.
He was married to Agnes S. Reser February 26, 1926, in To¬peka. She died October 6,1985. He later was married to Mary Kobiskie in 1985. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Marie Brazzle, Wamego; a stepson, Averill Startup, Glenwood Springs, Colo.; three stepdaughters, Velma Colter, To¬peka, and Sandy Borger and Linda Bellinder, both of Wamego; a sis¬ter, Lottie Stum, Rossville; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grand-
children.
Mr. Besta also was preceded in death by two daughters, Phyllis Mays, in 1982, and Helen Richard, in 1996.
His service was at 10 a.m. Sat-urday at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Burial was in the Wamego City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Vista Good Sa-maritan Center and sent in care of the funeral home.
