Lyda A. Berkey
Mrs. Lyda A. Berkey, 91, Rossville, died Tuesday, January 21, 1986, at the Rossville Valley Manor.
She was born August 3, 1894, at Rossville, the daughter of Joseph and Alma Mitchell Dean.
Mrs. Berkey spent her life in the Rossville community. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Amaryllis Chapter No. 321 of the Order of Eastern Star, both at Rossville.
She was married to Charles L. Berkey in 1913 at Rossville. He died January 26, 1965.
Survivors include a son, Donald D. Berkey, Rossville; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Bailey, Silver Lake, Mrs. Kate Maddox, Topeka, and Mrs. Emma Waltrip, Armona, Calif.; two brothers, Charles Dean, Silver Lake, and Delbert Dean, Topeka; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church in Rossville, 66533. Relatives and friends met from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
