Obituary- Dolezilek, August 1

August Dolezilek

Mass of Christian burial was at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rossville, for August Dolezilek, 82, Silver Lake, who died Monday, March 22, 1982, in a grass fire near his farm home.

Shawnee County District Coroner W. Kiernan O'Callaghan said Mr. Dolezilek died of smoke inhalation and burns. An autopsy was performed Tuesday.

A neighbor of Mr. Dolezilek's speculated the victim was attempting to put out the fire when his clothing caught on fire.

Mr. Dolezilek was born September 20, 1899, in Jackson County, the son of John and Antonie Simecka Dolezilek. He lived all his life in the Jackson-Shawnee County area.

He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.

Survivors include a brother, Ted Dolezilek, Rossville; and two sisters, Mrs. Lula Steele, Berryton, and Mrs. Agnes Michel, Walla Walla, Wash.

Burial was a Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys, and Rosary said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Verschelden Funeral Home chapel, St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Ed Smatla, Henry Martinek, Vince Martinek, Henry Lillard, Larry Andrson and Gary Funke.
