Lawrence Farley
Lawrence Farley, 91, Topeka, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Farley owned and operated Farley Plumbing and Heating in Rossville. He had been a steam fitter at Fort Riley for many years before he retired in the 1970s. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was born Oct. 3, 1908, in West Liberty, Ky., the son of Til and Alice Farley. He was raised in Rossville and attended Rossville schools.
Mr. Farley was a member and past presi-dent of the Eagles Aerie No. 2468 in Manhattan and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He also was a member of Jimmy Lillard Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Rossville.
He married Clare Mae Yocum in May 1929. She died in October 1986.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Rossville Cemetery in Rossville. Mr. Farley will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and sent in care of the mortuary.
