KOLTERMAN FARRELL
Delores C. Kolterman Farrell, 88, of Rossville, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
She was born Oct. 31, 1924, in the Laclede community the daughter of Ewalt and Frances Wilson Kolterman. She grew up in the Laclede community and graduated from Wamego High School.
On April 4, 1945, in Atchison, Delores was united in marriage to Dennis C. Farrell. They shared over 58 years of marriage before Dennis passed away on May 6, 2003. To this union they shared four children, Tomi Ann, Jayleen, Paris Marie and Denis.
Delores and Dennis lived on a farm near Wamego and moved to the Rossville/St. Marys communities in 1956. Delores was a proud farmer’s wife who understood what hard work was all about and took much pride in everything she did. She was always caring for her children and helping Dennis with chores on the farm on a daily basis. In her later years, she was employed by the Unified School District No. 321 as a cook and she took much pride in preparing all those meals for the school kids. Her strong work ethic and loving heart will be missed by her family and friends and her warm spirit will be expressed in all of their daily lives forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis; one daughter, Paris Marie Farrell (1956); and two grandchildren, Shawn Perry (1989) and Jacolyn Farrell (2009).
Delores is survived by her two daughters, Tomi Ann Morford and Jayleen Farrell both of Topeka; one son, Denis Farrell of Valley Center; one sister, Henrietta Willey of Oregon; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 8, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Marys.
Interment followed at the St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery, Wamego.
