John Berberick
Services will be at Brennan Funeral Home for John P. Berberick, 72, 1412 Glencoe, who died Thursday morning at a Topeka hospital following an extended illness. An au¬topsy is scheduled to determine cause of death.
He was born June 28, 1904, in Topeka, where he lived most of his life.
He owned and operated restaurants in Topeka, Rossville, and Delia. He served 10 years in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, and American War Dads, both at Topeka, and the Ameri¬can Legion at Rossville.
He married Elizabeth Pfeifer in 1935. She died in 1959. He married Annie Plants on April 23, 1960. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, John Berberick, Cherryvale, and Wil¬liam J. Berberick, 417 Green: three stepsons, Clarence Plants, 8052 S.W. Auburn Road, Jacob Paints, Paonia, Colo., and Robert Plants, El Paso, Tex.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Edith Reed, 3418 Rochester Road; two brothers, Ja¬cob Berberick, 538 N. Lime, and Wil¬liam L. Berberick, 536 Scotland; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Corber, 554 Scot¬land. and Mrs. Anna Williams, Kath¬leen, Ga.; and 24 grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cem-etery. Mr. Berberick will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where parish rosary will be re¬cited at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
