Dillon E. Fisher
Dillon E. Fisher, 85, Silver Lake, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1987, at a Topeka hospital where he was a patient 2 months following a heart attack at his home.

Mr. Fisher was a retired banker. He began his banking career with the Bank of Topeka where he served three years. He joined the former Kaw Valley National Bank of North Topeka and later was an officer and assistant cashier of Kaw Valley State Bank. He spent a total of 25 years at Kaw Valley.

He also served as cashier, loan officer and vice president of Silver Lake State Bank 25 years before he retired. After retirement he was auditor and director of Peoples State Bank at Rossville.

He was born March 4, 1902, at Wilson, the son of Joseph and Marie Emilie Opocensky Fisher. He lived in Wilson, Conway Springs and Topeka before he moved to Silver Lake.

Mr. Fisher was a member of Central United Presbyterian Church in Topeka and served on the Session and was youth coordinator many years at the church. He also was a former member of a Masonic lodge and was a charter member of the Silver Lake Lions Club.

He was married to Lillian Mae Salyer June 25, 1923 in North Topeka. She survives. A son, Dillon Eugene Fisher, died in 1981.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Doris Mae Chitwood, Silver Lake; a son, William Robert Fisher, Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Olive Fisher, Denver, Colo., and Judith Ann Fisher, Topeka; a brother, Robert William Fisher, Chanute; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka. Mr. Fisher will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Silver Lake United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 188, or to First Baptist Church, 301 Railroad, both in Silver Lake, 66539.
