Obituary- Fletcher, Frances
Frances H. Fletcher
HOLTON — Frances H. Fletcher, 96, Holton, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1992, at a Holton nursing home.
Mrs. Fletcher was a teller 23 years at the Kansas State Bank in Holton. She also was a deputy to the Jackson County clerk and was Jackson County treasurer, both for many years.
She was born Nov. 9, 1896, at Hol¬ton, the daughter of Cyrus F. and Emma Vetter Hurrel. She graduated in 1915 from Circleville High School. She spent most of her life in the Holton community.
Mrs. Fletcher was a member of First United Methodist Church in Holton and a life member of Mary L. Bair Unit No. 44 of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She was married to Paul F. “Snipe” Fletcher on Dec. 30, 1922, at Holton. He died July 18, 1953.
Survivors include two nieces, Charlene Bordner Tompkins, Mobile, Ala., and Faye Hurrel Waggoner, Coquille, Ore.; and four nephews. William Paul Hurrel, Tcrpeka, Charles Bordner, Lee's Summit, Mo., Robert Bordner, Raytown, Mo., and George N. Brown, Rossville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Mrs. Fletcher will lie in state from 10 a.m. Friday until service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mary L. Bair Unit No. 44 of the American Legion Auxiliary or First United Methodist Church in care of Kansas State Bank, Holton, 66436.
