Obituary- Foresman, Ralph
Ralph Foresman
ST. MARYS — Ralph Edward Foresman,
89, St. Marys, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at a Rossville nursing home.
Mr. Foresman farmed for many years in the Belvue community. Fie had worked for St. Marys College for about eight years.
He was born Dec. 10, 1911, in Beivue, the son of William and Hattie Ault Foresman. He grew up in the Belvue community and had lived in the St. Marys community since 1974.
Mr. Foresman was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys and a life member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1370 in Wamego.
He married Juanita Patton on Aug. 24, 1935, in St. Marys. She survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Walter Foresman, Topeka, and Ralph E. Foresman, Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Sheila D. Walsh, Whitehouse Station, N.J.; a brother, LeRoy Foresman, Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Audria North, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Foresman will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys, where a prayer service at 7 p.m. will be followed by a rosary.
The family suggests memorials to the Ralph E. Foresman Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.

Ralph Edward Foresman, 89, St. Marys, died at the Rossville Valley Manor Wednesday, January 3, 2001.
He was born December 10, 1911, in Belvue, the son of William and Hattie Ault Foresman.
He grew up in the Belvue community, where he farmed for many years, and had lived in the St. Marys community since 1974. He worked for the St. Mary’s College for about eight years. Mr. Foresman was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, and a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1370 in Wamego.
On August 24, 1935, he was married to Juanita Patton in St. Marys. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Walter Foresman, Topeka, and Ralph E. Foresman, Mesa, AZ; a daughter, Sheila D. Walsh, Whitehouse Station, NJ; a brother, LeRoy Foresman, Kansas City, KS; a sister, Audria North, Topeka; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He will lie in state after 3 p.m. Friday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m., followed by the recitation of the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial is at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ralph E. Foresman Memorial Fund and sent in care of Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home.
