Obituary- Banta, Helen 2

Mrs. Helen C. Banta
HOLTON — Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mercer Funeral Home here for Mrs. Helen C. Banta, 93, Hoyt. She died Saturday, Nov. 5, 1988, at a Holton hospital.
She was born Dec. 1, 1894, in Topeka, the daughter of Schuyler C. and Nellie Seymour Higbee. She spent most of her life in the Silver Lake and Delia communities before she moved to Hoyt in 1984.
She was married to Ross Banta June 21, 1916, in Topeka. He died Feb. 27, 1970. She also was preceded in death by three children in infancy and a son, Darwin Banta, April 1, 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, AlŽice Runkle, Hoyt; a son, Robert BanŽta, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Amy Trimble, Topeka, and Grace MadŽdox, Berryville, Ark.; a brother, Ralph Higbee, Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Silver Lake CemŽetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Jackson County Nursing Home and sent in care of Kansas State Bank, Holton, 66436.
