Obituary- Foster, M. Ellen 1

Foster
M. Ellen Foster, 83, Rossville, died Thursday, April 4, 1996, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Foster and her husband farmed south of Topeka. She also had worked for Luce Clipping in Topeka and later for the Drug Store and then the Liquor Store at Rossville.
She was born Sept. 18, 1912, at Topeka, the daughter of Charles Henry and Catherine Ellen Biringham Dale. She had lived at Rossville since 1959.
Mrs. Foster was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Rossville and the altar society at the church. She was a former member of the Rossville and Sunnyside Home Demonstration Units. She also was past president of the Rossville Literary Club.
She married Joseph Freeman Foster on Aug. 8, 1934, at Topeka. He died Nov. 23, 1978.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Foster, Overbrook; four sons, Robert Foster, Topeka, David Foster, Rossville, and Charles Foster and Fred Foster, both of Delia; one brother, John Dale, Topeka; two sisters, Catherine Sommers and CharŽlotte Noland, both of Topeka; 11 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; five great-grandsons; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Rossville. Burial was at Rossville Cemetery. Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Building Fund or to the Rossville Library and sent in care Of the funeral home.
