Obituary- Hackler, Ronald 2

Ronald J. Hackler
Ronald John Hackler, 64, 231 Waite, died Thursday, Oct. 27, at a Topeka hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Hackler was general foreman of j the City of Topeka Water Pollution Control when he retired July 1, 1982. He served in the 1923rd Quartermaster Truck Company (Aviation) in the European Theater during World War II.

He was born April 30, 1919, at Hope, the son of John R. and Brydia Williams Hackler, and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1939. He lived in the Topeka area most of his life.

Mr. Hackler was a member of West Side Christian Church and Topeks Camping Club.

He was married to Freda C. Keller on July 4, 1943, at Rossville. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Steve C. Hackler, Missoula, Mont., and Roger J. Hackler, Topeka; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. Mr. Hackler will lie in state from 7 p.m. Saturday until service time at the mortuary where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian Church, 432 Lindenwood, Topeka, 66606, or American Heart Association, 5229 W. 7th, Topeka, 66606.
