Obituary- Haddow, Doris

Doris Jean Haddow
Doris Haddow passed away early last Friday morning in a Topeka hospital from injuries received in an auto collision two weeks previous near the Goodyear tire plant.
Everything that medical skill could do and her own gallant fight for life were unable to save her. Doris, just 21, had been employed the past four years as bookkeeper for the Neely Implement Co., Topeka. She had been with that concern since her graduation from Rossville High School in 1944, where she was an honor student each of her four years.
She came to Rossville with her parents from McFarland in 1938, entering grade school in the 7th grade.
Her untimely passing drew forth the deepest sympathy to the bereaved family from the whole community
The funeral service Monday at 1 p.m. in the Wall-Diffenderfer chapel in Topeka was largely attended by Rossville people and former schoolmates of Doris beside her fellow employees and friends she had made in Topeka.
The service was in charge of Evangelists John Freeman and Roy Linder. Music was furnished by Velma Lambotte, Nadine Messer, Evelyn Rose and Lavern Rose.
The body was brought to Rossville cemetery for burial. The pallbearers were Neely employees, Messrs. Frank West, Kent West, Chet Calvert, Ralph Adkins, Robert Thomas and Marion Miller.
Relatives from out-of-town attending the services were: Mrs. J.H. Wolf from Richland, Wa., Claude I. Haddow, Dayton, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hiskey, Wetmore, Ks.; Mrs. Annie Haddow, Mr. and Mrs. Max Roark, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ball from McFarland, Ks.; Mr. and Mrs. Orvel Criqui of Emporia; Mr. and Mrs. W.S.
