Obituary- Franklin, Lucy

Mrs. Lucy Virginia Franklin, 88, early Kansas settler, died Monday at her home 1315 Garfield, Topeka. Born June 22, 1856, in Montoursville, Pa., she came to Kansas when two years old with her parents, who settled in Rising Sun. After her marriage October 1, 1890, to Joseph M, Franklin, she made her home near Rossville until 1921, when she and her husband moved to Topeka, and had lived there since. Mrs. Franklin was a member of the Central Congregational Church.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Myrnah McEntire, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Monita Cox, Cedarvale, Kan., and Miss Miriam Franklin, of the home; one son Charles Benjamin Franklin, Topeka; two brothers, John W. Kunkel, Shawnee, Okla., and Gayl M. Kunkel, Perry, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 2 o’clock in the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
