Obituary- Banta, Floyd

FLOYD E. BANTA
Funeral services for Floyd E. Banta 71, of 1814 Central Park, Topeka, who died early Saturday at his home fol¬lowing a long illness, were held Tues¬day at 2 p. m. at the Parker Mortu¬ary. Burial was in Mount Hope Cem¬etery.
Mr. Banta was born near Carl Junc¬tion, Mo., March 14, 1878, and came to Kansas with his parents when a child. He formerly farmed near Rossville, Meriden and Delia communities, but had lived in Topeka for the last 16 years.
He was in the grocery business in Topeka, first in North Topeka and later at the corner of First and Tyler. He retired several years ago because of poor health.
He leaves his wife, Mertie Banta; six daughters, Mrs. Carl Graham, of Colton, Calif.; Mrs. Lester Bonjour, of Centralia, Mrs. Henry O. Dibbern, Mrs. Lawrence Brunin, Mrs. Ray Lan¬dis and Mrs. Ethel Myers of Topeka; 14 grandchildren; six great-grand¬children.
Others surviving include four brothers, Therman Banta of Los An¬geles; Earl of Albany, Ore.; Guy of Meriden and Ross of Hoyt, and a sis¬ter, Mrs. James Blackwell of Kings¬ville, Texas.
