Obituary- Bacon, Nellie

Nellie Bacon, Former County
Official, Dies

Mrs. Nellie B. Bacon, 80, 717 Chester, a resident of Topeka for 47 years and a former Shawnee County deputy assessor, died late Thursday in a Topeka hospital.

She was born on May 27, 1888, in Ontario, Kan.

She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church, Helena Chapter No. 210. Order, of Eastern Star, and the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include her husband, Clay V. Bacon, at home: a son, Cecil H. Parrett, 925 N.E 43rd Road: two step-daughters Mrs. Lois Herde, 419 Poplar and Mrs. Ila Mae Thornburg 1006 E. 27th; a brother, Alfred Lynde, Poplar Bluff, Mo.; six grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.

Services will be at Wall-Diffenderfer at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Whiting.

Come for funeral
Guests at the Elmer Lynde home Saturday were Alfred Lynde of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Raymond Lynde of Jonesville, Louisiana. They were here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Nellie Bacon in Topeka, a sister of Alfred Lynde.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lynde ad as their guests Saturday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Jess Fryman, Jim Stadler of Newton, and Mrs. Lynde’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Pearl and family of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
