Dorothy Franz
Dorothy Franz, 73, died Tuesday, November 28, 1995, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mrs. Franz taught school at Covert High School, Delia High School and Hanover High School.
She was born February 8, 1922, at Denison, the daughter of Ben and Florence Harvey Akright. She was reared in Denison and was graduated from Holton High School in 1940. She earned a degree in vocational home economics at Kansas State Agricultural College, Manhattan.
Mrs. Franz was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Delia and the ladies group at the church.
She married Louis Franz September 19, 1948, at Holton. He survives. For many years, Dorothy and Louis lived in the rural Delia community.
Other survivors include a sister, Josephine Disney, Topeka; and a brother, Harold Akright, Escondido Calif.
Visitation was at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Her service was at 10:00 Friday at the Delia Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Delia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Delia Presbyterian Church and sent in care of the funeral home.
