Mrs. Mildred Hargis
Mrs. Mildred Hargis, 84, 4148 Emland Drive, died Thursday in a Topeka hospital following a short illness.

She was born Aug. 6, 1895, near Delia, the daughter of L.T. and Annie Stalker Houck.

She had been a Topeka resident since 1925. She attended Central United Presbyterian Church and was a member of a local card club more than 50 years.

She was married March 27, 1917, to A.D. Hargis at Lawrence. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Bernard M. “Bud" Hargis, 5813 W. 20th; a daughter, Mrs. Esther McCorkill, Rossville; a brother, Howard E. Houck, Rossville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Delia Cemetery, Delia. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3003 Van Buren, Topeka, 66611.
