Wallace Baillod
Wallace Baillod, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baillod, passed away Tuesday of this week, Feb. 6, after an illness extending over many weeks. A number of weeks ago he was brought to the Hospital here suffering with a severe case of appendicitis. An operation was performed at once, but from the start it was realized that his condition was critical. Complications developed and he underwent a number of operations and would not have been able to live as long as he did had he not had a strong constitution.
The going of this splendid young man bring its burden of sorrow to the loved ones, and to all his many friends. But through the sorrow shines the light of his fine life and the beautiful story of the way he faced the end. He was a clean, manly young fellow, of worth-while aspirations, and his spirit of geniality and kindness had made him beloved by all who knew him. And this strength of character was shown in unusual way during the long weeks of his suffering and as the certainty of the end drew near. He did not give up until a few days before the end came, but then he realized that he could not get well and calmly said he was ready to go. He spoke words of cheer to his friends as he bade them good-bye
