BESSIE D. BAIRD
Mrs. Bessie Divine Baird, 90, Rossville, died Tuesday, February 10, 1981, at a St. Marys nursing home where she had lived for 13 years.
She was born November 5, 1890, at Pittsburg, and lived at Rossville since 1918.
Mrs. Baird owned and operated Divine’s Cafe, Rossville, for 35 years.
She retired January 1, 1957.
She was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors of America.
She married Harvey Divine who preceded her in death. She later married Floyd Baird in 1953. He died in 1964.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vivian M. Turner, Rossville; two grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial was in Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rossville United Methodist Church, Rossville, Ks. 66533.
