Obituary- Baird, Byron
DEATHS AND FUNERALS
BYRON WILLIAM BAIRD
Byron William Baird, 86, died Monday night in Manhattan. He was born September 21, 1851, in Craw¬ford county, Penn. He came to Kan¬sas in 1878, settled in Shawnee county, where he had resided contin¬uously until four years ago when he went to Manhattan to make his home with a daughter, Mrs. Bessie B. Best.
Mr. Baird was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage in January, 1935, and has been in ill health since that time. He was a member of A. O. U. W. No. 244.
He is survived by two sons, Charles L. Baird, Silver Lake; and George H. Baird, Bartlesville, Okla.; three daughters, Mrs. William Howey Eskridge, Kansas; Mrs. Bessie Best, Manhattan, Kan.; and Mrs. Carl Hultgren, Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. E. 0. Bigelow, Waterford, Penn., and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the Walldiffenderfer mortuary in To¬peka and burial was in Valencia cem¬etery.
