Obituary- Hartzell, Elizabeth
ELIZABETH HARTZELL
Elizabeth Winona Hartzell, aged 7 years, 9 months and 17 days passed away last Thursday evening. The funeral service was not held until Tuesday afternoon, awaiting the arrival from Oregon of Mrs. Marlin Evans, a sister.
The services were held at the home, conducted by the Rev. G.C. Albin, of the Methodist church. The music for the services was furnished by Mrs. Daw, Mrs. Gresser, Mr. John Shenk and Mr. Eli Shenk.
The pall bearers were six girls: Misses Viola Lillard, Lorena Conrad, Velma Lambotte, Mabel Lambotte, Vivian Divine and Fern Pendleton. Interment was made in Rossville cemetery.
Elizabeth was an unusually bright little girl and her decease, caused by valvular heart trouble, for which medical science could do nothing, caused an unusual wave of sympathy to be accorded the parents and the brothers and sisters.
Elizabeth’s was the first death to break into the family circle of nine fine boys and girls raised by Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Hartzell, among whom the spirit of devotion to the parents and to one another has been most marked.
Beside the parents, the surviving brothers and sisters include, O.B. Hartzell, Ralph Hartzell, of Kansas City, Mo., Allyn and Clyde, of the home address, Mrs. M.D. Evans, of Myrtle Point, Ore., Misses Ayleen, Mary and Edna May Hartzell, of the home address; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Hartzell and other relatives in the community.
