Obituary- Heiland, Fred C. 1
Fred Heiland
Frederic C. Heiland, aged 62, a resident of the Rossville community for 36 years, died Thursday morning at the S.B.A. hospital in Topeka. He was born in Germany, Dec. 10, 1882, and died March 16, 1944.
He came to America on Labor Day in 1904, and made his home for two years at Grantville, Ks., before coming to Rossville.
He worked on the Mulvane ranch for 22 months, before he started farming for himself on the Chris Hemme farm, where he made his home until his death.
He was married to Ida Gutshall, Feb. 7, 1911 at Topeka. To this union was born three children.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Heiland, one daughter, Mrs. LeRoy Graff, of Kiro; two sons, Fred and Harley Heiland of the home, and one granddaughter, Barbara Lou DeGraff.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Presbyterian church with the Rev. N.P. Olney, pastor of the church officiating. Burial was in Rossville cemetery.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Albert Reser and Mrs. Home Reid with Mrs. Ruby Sawitzke accompanying at the piano.
The pall bearers were Ray Parr, Perry Stumbaugh, F.P. McCollough, Cecil Lemon, and Martin Whearty.

Fred C. Heiland passed away this Thursday morning at 2:30. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Rossville Presbyterian church with eh Rev. N. P. Olney officiating. Burial in Rossville cemetery. An obituary will be published next week.
