Former Delia resident dies in Texas
Frank Hejtmanek, of Delia and 84 years of age, died suddenly of a heart attack in the home of his daughter, Alice Marie Hejtmanek in Pasadena, Texas on August 26, 1969. He was born November 22, 1884, at Rossville and was the son of George and Anna Ondra Hejtmanek. His parents, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death, leaving him the final survivor.
He was married to Sophia Vacek on December 2, 1913. She preceded him in death ten years ago. He was a member of the Delia Presbyterian Church and a retired farmer. He lived all his workable years in the Delia community and five years ago moved to Texas due to ill health, but soon recovered completely and lived a contented life, reading profusely and watching his favorite television programs. He enjoyed people and company, especially if they could talk about oldtimes, old friends and the community he knew so much about. Also, he was a lover of nature.
He leaves to mourn, his daughter, Mrs. Alice Marie Hejtmanek, his son-in-law, Frank H. Hejtmanek, and two grandsons, Frank G. and Lewis of Pasadena, Texas, several nephews and nieces, and a host of friends.
Services were held in the Delia Presbyterian Church, Rev. Alex Eckert officiating, on August 28. Burial was in the Czech-Moravian Cemetery.

ST. MARYS – Services are pending at Verschelden Funeral Home, St. Marys, for Frank Hejtmanek, 84, Pasadena, Tex., a former resident of Rossville, who died Tuesday at Pasadena.
Burial will be in Czech-Moravian Cemetery, Rossville.
HEJTMANEK, FRANK – Age 84, formerly of Delia, Ks. died August 26. Services 2 p.m. Thursday at Delia Presbyterian Church. Interment in Czech-Moravian Cemetery north of Rossville, Ks.
