Hejtmanek
George “Kenneth” Hejtmanek, 73, died at his home in Kansas City, Mo. of natural causes on July 7, 1986. He donated his body for medical science at KU Medical Center.

He was the son of Charles M. and Dulcia Rendle Hejtmanek, Delia, Kan. He graduated Delia High School in 1931 and attended Central Business College in Kansas City, Mo.

He entered the U.S. Armed Forces May 8, 1942. He served in the 320th Bombardment Group of the United State Air Force, stationed in North Africa and the Sicily areas. He was awarded the good conduct medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge with Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster and the Croix de Guerre with Palm.

He was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant Oct. 14, 1945. He was employed by several United States governmental agencies in Kansas City and in Topeka at the Postal Supply Depot. He retired at the age 65. He played piano in Kansas City hotels and clubs.

He married Elda W. Cole, Horton, Mo., on Feb. 20, 1952. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elda, Jan. 22, 1973 and earlier by his parents.

He is survived by three brothers, C. Clayton Hejtmanek, Topeka; Robert K. Hejtmanek, Topeka; and Donald C. Hejtmanek, Burlington, Mass.

Memorial services will be held at Delia Presbyterian Church, Delia, Kan. at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 13 with Rev. William B. Adair officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delia Presbyterian Church in care of Mrs. Joe Macha, Delia, Kan. 66418.

DELIA – Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Presbyterian Church in Delia for George Kenneth Hejtmanek, 73, Kansas City, Mo., a former Topekan, who died Monday, July 7, at his home.

Mr. Hejtmanek was employed by several U.S. Government agencies in Kansas City and worked at the Postal Supply Depot in Topeka before he retired at age 65. He played piano in Kansas City hotels and night clubs.


He was born June 13, 1913, at Delia, the son of Charles M. and Dulcia Rendle Hejtmanek. He was graduated from Delia High School in 1931 and attended Central Business College in Kansas City, Mo.
