Floyd D. Hladky Sr.
SOLDIER - Floyd D. Hladky Sr., 80, of Soldier died Wednesday, May 30, 1990, at the home of a daughter in Soldier.

Mr. Hladky was a farmer and stockman. He also worked from 1941 to 1973 for Zima Livestock Co. near Emmett, from 1955 to 1987 for Atchison Livestock Co. and from 1958 to 1964 for G.W. Baker Construction Co.

He was born March 12, 1910, in Delia, the son of Edward and Alvina Macha Hladky. He lived briefly in the Emmett and St. Clere communities and most of his life in the Soldier community.

He was married to Kathryn Juanita Bailey on Oct. 13, 1932, in Washington. She died May 12, 1980. Twins, Terry and Sherry Hladky, died May 26, 1950, and a son, Rocky Hladky, died Aug. 31, 1985.

Survivors include a daughter, Sondra June Hill, Soldier; seven sons, Gary D. Hladky, Fort Lupton, Colo., Bailey E. Hladky and Floyd D. Hladky Jr., both of Holton, Wayne D. Hladky, Neodesha, Joey H. Hladky, Los Angeles, Randy Hladky, Jacksonville, N.C., and Rickey Hladky, Berryton; three sisters, Christine Lettig and Ines DeVader, both of Holton, and Bernice Morgan, Port Angeles, Wash.; four brothers, Herman Hladky, Sheridan, Wyo., Leonard Hladky, Corning, Calif., and Garnett “Bud” Hladky and Howard Hladky, both of Emmett; 25 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holton Hospital in care of Denison State Bank, Holton 66436.
