Louis Hobart dies Apr. 23 at his home
Louis J. Hobart, 74, retired farmer of the Delia community, died Apr. 23 at his home.

Born May 2, 1894, at Pocahontas, Ia., he had spent most of his life in Delia.

Mr. Hobart was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Delia, and Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31, American Legion, Rossville. He was a township trustee many years for Washington Township.

Mr. Hobart was married to Evelyn Moore on May 25, 1921, in Delia. Besides his widow, he leaves:

Two daughters: Mrs. Mary Macha, Rossville; Mrs. Joan Hofman, Camp Springs, Md.; a son: Donald A. Hobart, Memphis, Tenn.; a brother: Edward Hobart, Las Vegas, Nev.; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services were held Saturday from Sacred Heart Church, with interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys, by the Verschelden Funeral Home.

The pall bearers: John Seitz, Frank McNeive, Joe Floersch, Kenneth Kerwin, Martin Brock, and Ben Simecka, all of Delia. 

Services were held Saturday at Delia for Mr. Louis Hobart who passed away suddenly Wednesday while mowing his lawn, He suffered a heart attack, he was born May 29, 1894 at Pocahontas, Iowa. He has lived in Delia since 1917. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Delia. A member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 Rossville, Kansas. He was a township trustee many years. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Hobart of the home, two daughters Mrs. Mary Macha of Rossville, and Mrs. Joan Hofman, Camp Springs, Md., a son Donald Hobart, Las Vegas, Nev. and 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. Rossville American Legion had charge of the military service.
