JAMES L. BEST
James L. Best, 80, of Rossville died Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Dick of Rossville. He was born at James¬town, Pa., and moved to western Kansas as a boy.
A retired farmer, he also leaves three other daughters, Mrs. Harry Dick of Williamstown, Mrs. Jack Dick of Oskaloosa and Mrs. Dei hi Small of Willard; four sons. Guy Best of Paramount, Calif., Frank Best of Tucson [sic], Ariz., and James L. Best Jr. of Topeka, two stepchil¬dren, Ray Davenport of Topeka and Mrs. Charlie Hooper of Auburn and a sister, Mrs. Cora Bell of Syl¬van Grove; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday after¬noon at the Rossville Presbyterian Church. Rev. Robert Boughton of¬ficiating. Hurley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was at Perry, Kansas.
