Obituary- Hejtmanek, Milan 2

Hejtmanek
Milan J. Hejtmanek, 73, Delia, passed away Sunday, October 9, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. He had cancer.

He was born December 26, 1909, at Delia, son of George E. and Emily Vacek Hejtmanek.

He was a retired farmer, loving and devoted husband and family man. He loved flowers, shrubs and trees and had a nice greenhouse as a hobby.

He graduated from Emporia State University, Emporia, in 1930. He was a member and elder of the Delia Presbyterian Church. He was also a past master and present treasurer of Delia Masonic Lodge No. 419 AF&AM, member of York Rite Bodies of Holton, Topeka Consistory Scottish Rite, Amaryllis Chapter No. 321 Order of Eastern Star at Rossville, Delia Lions Club. He was a former Jackson County Commissioner, former member Delia Board of Education, Jackson County Soil Conservation Board. He was an active member of Jackson County Historical Society of Holton.

He was married to Margaret L. Ketchum, December 13, 1945, in Topeka. She survives at home.

Also surviving are his children, Penny P. Stafford, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Milan G. Hejtmanek, who is attending Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts; three grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 13, at Parker-Price Mortuary, Rev. William Adair officiating. Delia Lodge No. 419 AF&AM will conduct the graveside services at Czech Morovian Cemetery, Delia. Memorial contributions may be made to Delia Presbyterian Church sent in care of Don Lacock, treasurer, Delia, 66418.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, at Parker-Price Mortuary. He will lie in state until service time Thursday at the Mortuary at which time the casket will remain closed.
