George Besta
George Edward "Ed" Besta, 65. Topeka, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002, in his home,
He was born October 14, 1936 in Rossville, the son of Edward and Winifred Yocum Besta, He was a graduate of Delia High School.
He worked for the Santa Fe Rail¬road until 1967, when he went to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber where he was supervisor until he re¬tired in 1998.
Ed was a member of the Moose Lodge, Topeka, and First Lutheran Church, Topeka,
He married Nancy L. Parr on December 23, 1958 in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons. Edward J. Besta, Kansas City, MO, and William B. Besta, Olathe; two daughters, Brenda L. Sanders, and Susanne Metcalf, both of Tope¬ka; his mother, Winifred Kerwin, Rossville; his stepfather, Clinton Kerwin, Rossville; two brothers, Bennie Besta, Rossville. and Robert Kerwin, Ozawkie; three sisters, Ter¬esa Marney, Delia, Mary Cowan, Topeka, and Terri Kerwin, Ross¬ville; and eight grandchildren.
His service was at 10 a.m. Fri-day at First Lutheran Church. Tope¬ka. Burial was in West Lawn Me¬morial Gardens, Topeka, The fami¬ly received friends Thursday from 6- 8 p.m. at the Parker-Price Mortuary. Topeka.

Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka, was in charge of arrangements.
