Obituary- Hunt, Carrie
FORMER ROSSVILLE WOMAN KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT
Mrs. Carrie Hunt, 68, of 1426 N. Harrison, street, Topeka, died in a Neodesha, Kan., hospital Monday morning from injuries received in a leap from a motor car about 10 miles south of Neodesha, last Friday afternoon.
Mrs. Hunt was returning to Topeka in a motor car driven by her husband, A. B. Hunt, when, the foot feed on the car became jammed and the car started down a steep hill, according to word received by her daughter, Mrs. Minnie Dunbar, of the home address. Although the husband snapped off the switch, Mrs. Hunt, badly frightened, leaped from the car. She suffered a fractured skull and other injuries which caused her death. The car was brot to a standstill Without damage to the machine. Mrs. Hunt was taken to a Neodesha hospital.
Mrs. Hunt for about two weeks had been at the bedside of a daughter. Mrs. Lula Smith, who has been seriously ill with pneumonia south of Neodesha. Her husband went after her Friday and was returning to Topeka with her and another daughter, Mrs. May McGuire, at the time of the accident.
Besides her husband and her three daughters, she is survived by three sons, Archie Matthews, Kansas City. Kan.; Frank Matthews. Parsons; and Cash Matthews, Wichita.
The body was brought to Topeka for burial.
