Hurla

Pauline V. Hurla, 70, Holton, passed away at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, Monday, Aug. 31, 1987.

She was born May 23, 1917, at Delia, the daughter of Earl and Etta Scheidegger Argo.

She was married to Louis S. Hurla June 6, 1935, at Kansas City, Kan.

She lived in Seneca for 33 years, moving back to Holton in 1980. She owned and operated the Northside Cafe and was employed at Nemaha County Rest Home, Log Cabin Cafe and Sunset Cafe, all at Seneca.

She was a member of St. Dominic’s Church, Holton.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Virginia Brinker, Topeka; five sons, Louis E. Hurla, St. Charles, Mo.; Robert Hurla, Leavenworth; Steven Hurla, House Springs, Mo.; Gerald Hurla, Fulton, Mo.; David Hurla, of the home; three sisters, Edna Brock, Marzine Little, Adelene Cunningham, all of Holton; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 1987 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Holton. Father Bob Hasenkamp officiated.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Kevin Brinker, Brian Brinker, Glenn Hurla, Kent Hurla, Kyle Hurla, and Dennis Boltz. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home, Holton, was in charge of arrangements.
