Obituary- Barker, Dudley
DUDLEY BARKER
Dudley J. Barker, 50, of Rt. 1, Manhattan, Kansas, died May 4 at St. John’s Hospital, Salina. Mr. Barker was in poor health for the past year, but had continued to work until two weeks ago.
He was born July 26, 1911, in Grassy Creek, Kentucky. He was a welder’s helper for the Union Pacific Railroad for the past twenty years.
He was married to Maralee Mileham in Rossville on June 9, 1946.
The rosary was recited at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Funeral services were at 9:00 a. m. Tuesday at the St. Stanislaus Church, Rossville, with burial in Rossville Cemetery. Rev. Edward Thro, S. J., officiated.
Mr. Barker is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maralee Barker of the home; two sons, Carl Barker of Silver Lake, Larry Barker of Silver Lake; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Bessie Startup, Rossville; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Sommers, Kansas City, Kansas, and Miss Gladys Barker, Los Vegas, Nevada.
Pallbearers were Jack Runkel and Frank Leathers, Topeka, Ralph Roudybush, Salina, Thos. Whitman, Howard Box and Jack Anderson, Silver Lake.
