E. R. James Died Suddenly.
E.R. James, better known for many years as “Squire,” died Monday morning at 11 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gus Kassebaum, at the advanced age of 85. His death was a shock to the community and to his sons and daughters in the vicinity, as it was unexpected. Mr. James had been ailing for some time, but not enough to alarm his children. His death was due to heart trouble. Mr. James had been a respected resident of Rossville for over forty years and his funeral, held yesterday at the Presbyterian Church, was attended by a great concourse of friends and neighbors. Interment was made in the Rossville cemetery. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. A.H. Kassebaum, Mrs. Ed Kassebaum of Silver Lake and Mrs. John Reid and five sons, Chas. James. J. E James of Topeka, Sherman James, Harvey James and Harry James, all of this vicinity. Ail obituary will be printed next week.
