Obituary- James, Louise

LULA JAMES
Mrs. Louise M. (Lula) James was born August 22, 1878, near Rossville, and passed away January 30, 1958, at a nursing home in St. Marys. She was an active member of the Rossville Methodist Church, the Women’s Society of Christian Service, the Friendly Circle Class, and was a Sunday School teacher for sixty years. She was a member of the Amaryllis Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star at Rossville.

She is survived by her husband, C. E. James; two sons: Wilfred Ward, El Reno. Oklahoma, Homer Ward, Bell, California; three daughters: Mrs. Faye Jones, Long Beach, California, Mrs. Everard Humphrey, Oklahoma City, Mrs. A1 Stoll, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two stepdaughters: Mrs. Vina McCoid, Rossville; Mrs. Ethel Sommers, Topeka; two sisters: Mrs. Ida James, Mrs. Emma Davis, both of Rossville; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

CARD OF THANKS—-We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the acts of kindness, messages of sympathy, and beautiful floral offerings received from our kind friends and neighbors during our recent bereavement in the loss of our beloved wife, mother and sister. We especially thank the WSCS, the ladies of the Friendly Circle Class of the Methodist Church, and the members of Amaryllis Chapter, OES, for the food they prepared and served.

Mrs. Louise M. (Lula) James, 79, lifelong resident of the Rossville community, died Thursday at a St. Marys nursing home. She was born August 22, 1878, near Rossville. She was a member of the Rossville Methodist Women’s Society of Christian Service, the Family Circle Class and the Order of the Eastern Star at Rossville.

She is survived by her husband, C. E. James of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Faye Jones, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Everard Humprey, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Mrs. A1 Stoll, Bartlesville, Okla.; two sons, Wilfred Ward, El Reno, Okla., and Homer Ward, Bartlesville, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida James and Mrs. Henry Davis, both of Rossville; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Hurley Funeral Home of Rossville is in charge of arrangements.
