Troy L. Johnson
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Salina for Troy Lee Johnson, 10, Salina. He died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1987, at a Topeka hospital.

He died of injuries suffered after wind blew a set of portable bleachers on top of him at Rossville High School Saturday. Dr. Roman Hiszczynskyj, Shawnee County district coroner, said he died of massive head trauma and brain injury.

He was born April 21, 1977, at Manhattan, the son of John and Christine Tieking Johnson. He was in fifth grade at Heusner Elementary School in Salina.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Salina.

Survivors include his father, John Johnson, Topeka; his mother, Christine Ostermann, Salina; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tieking, Concordia, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnson, Topeka.

Burial will be in St. Concordia Catholic Cemetery in Concordia. Troy Johnson will lie in state from 4 p.m. today until noon Tuesday at Chapel Funeral Home in Salina where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today. Contributions may be made to the Troy Johnson Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Salina Public Library, 301 W. Elm, Salina, 67401.
