Obituary- Jones, Mary

Mary A. Jones
SALINA — Mary A. Jones, 78, Salina, died Friday, March 20, 1992, at a Salina hospital.

She worked for Beech Aircraft in Wichita during World War II and Kansas State Bank in Wichita from the late 1940s to 1953.

She was born Oct. 1, 1913, in St. Mary's, the daughter of John and Mary Brunin Dohrman. She moved to Salina in 1967.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Guild, St. Mary's Quilting Circle, St. Mary’s Choir and the auxiliary at St. John's Hospital, all in Salina.

She was married to Afton N. Jones on July 4, 1952, in Wichita. He survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Kathy J. Brocato, Arlington, Texas, and Cynthia L. Thompson, Salina; a brother, Lee Dohrman, St. Mary's; six sisters, Regina Simecka, Margaret Tomson, and Dolores Floersch, all of Delia, Germaine Durow and Catherine Reilly, both of Topeka, and Veronica Dary, Kansas City, Kan.; and five grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Salina. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Mary's. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Monday at Ryan Mortuary in Salina where a vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary s Catholic Church or the Mary Jones Fund for Handicapped Children and sent in care of the mortuary.
