Services for Helen G. Jeffries Wilt Kampschroeder, 92, Rossville, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Kampschroeder died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at her home. She was born June 21, 1913, in Silver Lake, the daughter of Isham and Rozella Maddox Jeffries. She graduated from Silver Lake High School and the Jane C. Stormont School of Nursing. She lived in Lawrence for 25 years and was a longtime resident of Rossville. Mrs. Kampschroeder worked as a private nurse. She worked at Topeka Presbyterian Manor and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. She assisted doctors with home care in Rossville. She was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church, the church women's group and worked in the church's children's department. She was a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star Amaryllis Chapter 321 in Rossville and later Loyal Chapter 176 in Silver Lake. She was a former member of the Ladies Literary Club in Rossville, chairwoman of a committee to aid the Salvation Army for 14 years, a Girl Scouts of America leader, 4-H leader and a member of several bridge clubs. Mrs. Kampschroeder was a member of the Riverside E.H.U. County Extension Council, Family Resource Management in Douglas County, and Kanwaka Museum, all in Lawrence. She was a life member of Lecompton Historical Society and librarian of the Gem and Mineral Society. She married Roy Wilt on Feb. 2, 1937. She later married Clyde H. Kampschroeder. He died in 1992.A son, Robert Wilt, died in 1974.Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Ann Wood, Rossville; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville.
