Obituary- Barnhart, Clarence 2

Clarence Clifford Barnhart, 88, Overbrook, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 1989, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Barnhart was a retired farmer and stockman.
He was born May 10, 1900, northwest of Centropolis, the son of William Riley and Susan Catherine Whistler Barnhart. He spent his life in the Centropolis and Overbrook communities.
Mr. Barnhart was a member of Washington Creek Church of the Brethren in southwest Douglas County.
He was married to Pearl Olive Firestone March 29, 1936, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Melvin K. Barnhart, Grain Valley, Mo., Vern D. Barnhart, Topeka, and Clifford N. Barnhart, Delia; two daughters, Sharon Soutee, Kansas City, Mo., and
Maxine Holden, Lake Mills, Wis.; a sister, Effie Churchbaugh, Lawrence; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Washington Creek Church of the Brethren in south¬west Douglas County. Burial will be in Washington Creek Cemetery. Mr. Barnhart will lie in state from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood- Roberts Funeral Home in Over¬brook and after noon Wednesday at the church. Relatives and friends will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial con¬tributions may be made to the Washington Creek Church of the Brethren.
