Obituary- Heslet, Norma 1
Norma M. Heslet
ROSSVILLE - Norma M. Heslet, 79, Rossville, died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at a Topeka hospital. She was born March 5, 1924, at Lincoln, the daughter of Otto and Lydia C. Rediker Meier. She was raised in the Lincoln area until moving to Delia in 1953. She moved in 1960 to Rossville, where she has resided since. She worked as retail store clerk in a liquor store in Rossville for 10 years. Mrs. Heslet was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Rossville Rollers and First United Methodist Church, all in Rossville. She married Elmer R. Heslet in Lincoln on Nov. 30, 1948. He died Jan. 1, 1976. Preceding her in death were a great- grandson, Bradford Lee Bettcher Jr.; and a brother, Raymond Meier. Surviving are five sons, Bert Heslet, Topeka, Rovell “Dutch" Heslet, Rossville, Howard Heslet, Marion, William Heslet, Rossville, and Darrel Heslet, Marion; a daughter, Rosa Lytle, Fairbanks, Alaska; a sister, Delma Reynolds, Salina; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandch ildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat- grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rossville United Methodist Church, Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Heslet will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday at Parker-Price Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Rossville United Methodist Church, 411 Pearl, Rossville, Kan. 66533, or Rossville Senior Citizens Center, 429 Pearl, Rossville, Kan. 66533.
