Obituary- Hesse, Ruth

Mrs. Ruth S. Hesse
ROSSVILLE - Mrs. Ruth S. Hesse, 81, Rossville, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1989, at a Rossville nursing home.

Mrs. Hesse had been a clerk at Hess Jewelers in Topeka several years.

She was born Feb. 15, 1908, in Rossville, the daughter of Augustus and Anne Young Stanley. She was graduated from Rossville High School. She attended Washburn College in Topeka where she was affiliated with Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

Mrs. Hesse was a member of the United Methodist Church and Amaryllis Chapter No. 321 of Order of Eastern Star, both in Rossville.

She was married to William L. Hesse Dec. 15, 1928. He died Dec. 28, 1965.

Survivors include two sons, William S. Hesse and F. Burns Hesse, both of Rossville; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Hesse will lie in state after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Rossville Valley Manor in Rossville.
